According to available measurements, 2024 broke the record for the warmest year in modern times - as did 2023 and many of the previous years. However, an extremely critical threshold was also broken for the first time, as the global temperature increase in 2024 was over +1.5 degrees compared to pre-industrial levels!
From a scientific point of view, this figure is a tipping point for the transition to threatening climate scenarios. Many climate protection targets have so far been based on this limit, but it is now almost impossible to maintain. The unchecked rise in global warming threatens to become a real risk to humanity - with serious global consequences.
