The intense hegemonic conflict between the USA and China is also being fought on the back of the US dollar system. This is because China has recognized that the global supremacy of the USA is also based on the US dollar.
Covert and overt attacks against the U.S. dollar system are therefore central elements of China's overall strategy. Following this logic, China has reduced its holdings of U.S. government bonds to the lowest level in twelve years.
